Hi and Welcome to my Blog on Dogs, as many people may know, Dogs make very Good Companions for men, and women, who live alone, and as my girlfriend, lives alone she has a German Sheperd named King.
And they are inceperable you see him, you see her, they go shopping together, Bath together, sleep together, on her bed of cause. He is a very clean and well trained Dog, so well he thinks he is human, tries to talk, but she
knows his language, and they comunicate very well, and he is a very good gaurd Dog. No one dares to open the front door, and come in at night he would tear them to pieces.
I know first hand as She gave me a key one Saturday night , but forgot to tell King, didn’t she and when i opened the door at 2.30.am on the Sunday morning, Wow what a welcome I recieved anyway. she soon called it into order by her command he stopped.
what he was doing with me, on the floor i was minus a pair of good pants next day, plus a badly torn jumper. But they can be replaced, so every thing was ok after a good night with my Girlfriend.
We went to the beach, and he had to ride in front with her and me in the back. as he is her Friend full time, Me only part time.
Ok, yes its an amaising story of how she has taken to him like she has; and he loves her, and is so faithful to her, and she to him.
Ok I have seen many amaizing things with Gaurd Dogs, who after a while the tend to think they have to replace a Loved one in some way. And if you did not know the people you would think its, a bit crazy. And I guess in some cases it can get a bit out of hand with them as well.
But for those of you who are living alone and would like to have a Dog for Company; just be aware that they can become very Possesive, of you expecially if you are the only person, who feeds, and looks after him, its a good Idear to have Him desexed, and ear tagged, and chipped, Although I don’t really approve of any of this.
Why because I think it takes a lot away from Him, that he could give you in return, he is always faithful, and loving, and caring, so He don’t want to loose, all his energy, I used to have a Rottwieller, and when he was about, 12 months old we had him desexed, chipped, and all his needles.
But you know he became the most lazy Dog I ever had and he put on a lot of weight, had no Energy didn’t want to go any where with me not to the beach or even in the Car. He knew he had lost some thing, and I always said if ever I had another Dog I would never have him Desexed, and I never have either and have had some very good dogs in my day.
I now have a 12 year old Border Collie now and she is the most Spoilt female, I have ever seen and she is a one person Dog, mine. She was given to me when she was just 3 years old, after I looked after a herd of Milking Goats, for a couple of Months, while a couple of people, who had worked very hard, But never had a Holiday, together as Husband, and Wife.
So we took on this Crazy task, as so as they could, any way after they came back home and took the herd of 196 Milking Goats. Home and this Border Collie, went with them, because she was used to round them all up, at milking time and bring them to the shed.
Well about 2 months later, we got this phone call one night as we were just sitting down to eat dinner. And when my Wife answered it, well it was the owner of the Goats, and she asked for me, so I answered it and the voice on the other end of the phone, Said when can you come and get this so and so Dog,
I Said why whats happened, and the Lady said we can’t do a thing with her she won’t work the Goats, nothing I Said, where are you now she out at the Farm, ok I said as soon as We have finished dinner and washed up, we will come as see whats wrong with her.
Well as Soon as we arrived, the Dog was as frightened as anything, and I asked have you beatten her she said yes the rotten thing she let all the Goats out into the wrong Paddock, and now we have to go and round them up on foot ourselves, So I said stay here. So i called the dog and she bounded out of her Kennel and ran to me.
So as soon as I opened the gate, I said go and get them girl, well to see the look on that owners face when she saw that Border Collie working those Goats, she brought every one of them, back to the Shed, not one was missed 196, were rounded up and brought in.
What was the Difference here, it was the tone of the voice, and the way, she was treated, when I got back to the house, I pulled my Cheque Book, out of my pocket and wrote a cheque for $300.00, and gave it to the woman. And opened my door on my truck, and said do you want to come home with me, she bounded into the back of my Truck, and its been the best $300 Buck I’ve ever spent.
You see when you speak roughly to your Dog they think they have done some thing wrong, and its up to us to help them understand, because they will always look for your Signal. Then when we don’t give one they think they are right and will soon get into bad habbits, which can some times be very hard to break them out of. Treat Him or Her like a Real Family Friend, and you will have a real friend for Life.
